Some of the “best-fried chicken” is being served in Liverpool. The annual Uber Eats awards took place on Thursday, November 14, with a Liverpool business representing the entire region.

Nashville Cluck was among the finalists for being named the UK & Ireland’s Restaurant of the Year. It came after the Myrtle Street venue fought off nine other restaurants, including Merseyside's Aros Kitchen, Laros, and Zazu, to win the North West Restaurant of the Year award.

The business ended up losing out on the national award, however was still highly praised by judges. The judging panel was made up of chef, television and radio broadcaster Andi Oliver, street food connoisseur Kieran Monlouis, and 2023 winner Josh Kleiner from Sandwich Sandwich. Uber Eats GM Matthew Price and Lorraine Copes, Founder and CEO at Be Inclusive Hospitality, rounded off the panel.

In a social media post, Nashville Cluck said, “It was an incredible experience, and we received exceptional feedback. We were honoured to hear the celebrity judging panel describe our friend chicken as some of the best they’ve ever had.

"Our Nashville chicken is seasoned multiple times throughout the cooking process, ensuring bold, layered flavours. We’re proud to serve some of the best Nashville-style fried chicken in the UK and to have won best restaurant in the northwest.”

Nashville Cluck first opened in the Georgian Quarter in October 2022 with the hopes of creating the "perfect" chicken burger. At one point, the business served more burgers than McDonald's on Uber Eats.

The winner Natty’s Jerk Kitchen, a Jamaican restaurant with venues in Portsmouth, Bournemouth and Southampton, received a £100,000 grand prize. Meanwhile, Nashville Cluck, alongside the others shortlisted, received a £5,000 prize and a bespoke support package to accelerate their business growth.
