The 'best hotel in the world' costs just £72 per night

One of the best things about travelling is finding surprisingly great deals.

Travel review giant TripAdvisor has just released their list of the top hotels of 2018 – and the hotel that takes the top spot costs just £72 per night.

Viroth’s Hotel, located in Siem Reap, Cambodia has been voted the best hotel in the world at the 2018 TripAdvisor Traveller’s Choice Awards.

The site described the hotel as: “Chic, tranquil, green and luxurious oasis. Friendly, helpful and yet unobtrusive service. Viroth's is not just a great place to see the stunning temples, but a destination in its own right.”

With 95 per cent of their 994 reviews being five-star, it’s no wonder Viroth took the top spot.

The reviews praised everything from its prime location to Angkor Wat, the spacious rooms and the stunning facilities.

Costa Rica’s Tulemar Bungalows & Villas took second place for their unique hill-perched rooms and India’s Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur was awarded the third spot.

Rounding out the top 10 were hotels in the Maldives, Vietnam, France, Italy and the US.

If Cambodia wasn’t already at the top of your bucket list, it should be now.
