Beleza

The all-you-can-eat Brazilian restaurant on Kingswood Retail Park has had rave reviews since opening in the back end of 2021. With a perfect five-star rating from nearly 500 customer reviews, the eatery has been complimented on its service, value and atmosphere. One reviewer wrote: "Lovely food and staff as always. Can't go wrong eating here, the food is to die for, fantastic salad bar, great selection of meat and the experience is just amazing."

Piccolo by Piccolino

Also situated on Kingswood Retail Park, Piccolo by Piccolino took over the former Gino D'Acampo restaurant in 2022, but has made a name for itself outright. The Italian restaurant boasts a five-star rating, with 499 Excellent ratings from customers. One customer commented: "Fabulous birthday meal! Staff were brilliant bringing cake out and singing! Staff great at showing discount and offers. Tasty food, lovely drink selection. All food enjoyed including children."

The Madras

Indian restaurant The Madras has long been a firm go-to for a curry - and was voted as Hull's best curry house by Hull Live readers last year. The Anlaby Road restaurant has been praised for its dishes, with one reviewer even commuting all the way from London for a bite to eat.

They wrote: "This has got to be the BEST Indian restaurant we have come across, we travel from London to Hull for business often and we MUST visit this restaurant each and every time! The staff are friendly and attentive, they take the time to advise you on each dish. Each time I eat their food it’s mouth watering, it's comforting, it’s literal heaven! I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!"

The Persian

Mediterranean grill house The Persian serves up delicacies from Turkey, Greece and the Middle East - all under one roof. The Princes Avenue venue has almost 400 Excellent ratings. One reviewer complimented on how much care staff showed them during their visit.

They wrote: "First visit today, what can I say? The owner was so attentive and spent the time to explain the menu and even offered a taster of one of the meze dishes. The food - wow such flavour profiles and fantastic they offer a BYOB service. I was able to pair a fantastic Lebanese red with our meal (from Aldi if anyone's interested). Will be back!"

SEBU Restaurant & Cocktail Bar

Filipino cuisine spot Sebu may be one of the newest restaurants to feature on this list, but with its rooftop seating and delicious Asian dishes, it's already made quite a name for itself. Just this month, Hull Live went down (or up) to try the place out for ourselves.

Our reporter Sofie wrote: "The quality of the food, the efficiency of the staff and the relaxed ambience in SEBU does make it stand out from the crowd in Hull. It's as stylish as it is welcoming and somewhere to treat yourself - and others - to something special."

Liquid Jade

Liquid Jade, just off Hull's high street, has become one of the city's most well-known tearooms. The otherwise hidden away Liquid Jade has gone from a hidden gem to a firm go-to spot when in Hull City Centre.

One reviewer wrote on TripAdvisor: "This is heaven for tea lovers! And heaven for coffee and cake lovers! Helen, the owner, has set up an amazing little cafe with Liquid Jade. She specialises in loose-leaf teas and has a tea menu which is 5 or 6 pages long.

"They are all also on display in jars. I went for the kiwi and strawberry one. It came served in a high-quality glass teapot, which kept the tea warm for ages. It also came with a pretty sand ‘egg’ timer to measure the brewing time. The cakes were all also really fresh and delicious."

The Brazillian Churrascaria & Bar

A taste of South America on Humber Street, The Brazillian Churrascarla & Bar offers great dishes with a view overlooking the scenic marina. One review from a first-timer reads: "We went to The Brazilian with no idea what to expect but were pleasantly surprised. We had such a great and personalised experience.

"From the manager calling us before to check if we wanted to come earlier, to the abundance of food (making sure our plates were never empty) and attentive waiters, we would definitely recommend. It was my partner's birthday and they brought out a brownie with a sparkler, which we also enjoyed and appreciated. Our special praises go to Adam, who made our whole experience and made us feel at home. Will be visiting again."

The Aegean

Greek joint The Aegean on Anlaby Road offers Mediterranean grub with plenty of vegan, veggie and gluten free options. With over 600 Excellent reviews, many people head to The Aegean to get their fix of the delicious gyros on offer.

One reviewer said: "Went for my husband's birthday last night. Great food. Very generous portions. None of us could finish our food. Staff were very attentive and friendly. Would definitely recommend to people. Whether it's just 2 of you or a party you won't be left disappointed... or hungry."

Nibble

Situated on Humber Street, Nibble has been one of Hull's best eateries since opening several years back. Specialising in breakfasts and sarnies, Nibble staff pride themselves on the presentation of the food, which does not disappoint. Since opening, Nibble has been that much of a hit that the owners opened a second branch, Next Door.

With a rating of 4.5, one reviewer said their first visit in a year did not disappoint. They wrote: "We fancied a really nice sandwich and Nibble didn’t disappoint! We both got a grilled sandwich from the specials board and it was beaut! First time we have been for about 12 months and I forgot just how good it was!”

Piccolo Italian Bistro

The Avenues spot Piccolo Italian Bistro uses French influence to its otherwise Italian menu to bring a true taste of the Med to The Avenues. Just weeks after opening in late 2022, the restaurant landed the title of 'Hull's number one restaurant' on TripAdvisor.

One review for Piccolo states: "We went again to Piccolos for an evening meal. This place never disappoints. We had starters and main course, which were delicious. But, were too full of the lovely food to fit in a sweet. For starters we had the crab and bruschetta respectively. My wife headed for her old favourite for main, the lamb. I had the veggie pasta parcels. Both were fantastic."
