Betting MNF: Four bets to consider for Colts at Ravens

This weekend was easily the best of the football season. In college, the Alabama Crimson Tide lost outright as 17.5-point favorites to Texas A&M, shocking the world. In the NFL, the Buffalo Bills handed Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs their third loss of the season. It was just a great weekend and now it’s capped off with a Monday night matchup with the Indianapolis Colts traveling to the Baltimore Ravens.

Here are four bets I like for MNF. All lines via BetMGM.

Betting option No. 1: Colts team total UNDER 20.5 (-140)

The Colts are having red-zone troubles. They are ninth in red-zone attempts, but 27th in red-zone touchdowns. In fact, Indianapolis has had 12 plays inside the five-yard line, tied for the most in the league, yet has produced just one touchdown from those attempts.

Meanwhile, Baltimore is top 10 in both opponent red-zone attempts and opponent red-zone scores, allowing just nine touchdowns through four games.

Betting option No. 2: TE Mark Andrews OVER 4.5 receptions (+125)

Andrews is second on the team in receptions behind Marquise Brown and third in targets. However, I think this is going to be a low-scoring affair. In looking at the Ravens' lower-scoring matchups against the Lions and Broncos, Andrews led the Ravens in receptions and yards in one game and led in targets in the other.

Andrews has had at least five targets in all four games and has had five receptions in his last three. The Colts are also coming off a game against the Miami Dolphins in which they allowed five receptions, 57 yards and one score to TE Mike Gesicki. Getting plus-money on a key cog in this offense is a healthy risk.

Betting option No. 3: Ravens (-7)

For all the reasons mentioned, I love Baltimore at home tonight. In addition to the lack of scoring production from the Colts, Lamar Jackson and Co. have a great opportunity to capitalize on a weak spot against this defense. Which brings me to ...

Betting option No. 4: Marquise Brown anytime touchdown (+145)

Indianapolis is allowing the highest touchdown rate to opposing quarterbacks and has given up 11 passing TDs, tied for fifth-most in the league. Although Jackson hasn't had more than one passing touchdown in any game this season, he is averaging a career-high 31 passing attempts and a career-high 269 yards per game.

Yes, the Colts are vulnerable to passing scores, however, their strength has been against the run in the red zone, allowing only one rushing score this season. Either the Ravens will buck this trend, or Jackson will have to turn to the air to produce points.

Enter Brown, who accounts for three of the Ravens' four total receiving touchdowns.

With Jackson ranking bottom five in passing scores, and the Colts not able to produce touchdowns of their own, the UNDER 46.5 is a good alternative to betting option No. 1 if you don’t like the juice.
