Beverley festive season set to begin with Christmas lights, markets and reindeer trail
Beverley is set to be a hub of festive cheer this Christmas, with twinkling lights and bustling markets.
The historic market town will be brimming with joy throughout November and December, hosting a variety of events, activities and celebrations.
Councillor Nick Coultish, cabinet member for culture, leisure and tourism at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, said: “The Christmas offer this year in Beverley has something for everyone, including, the Christmas Tree Festival, a Reindeer Rampage Trail, and the hugely popular Beverley Festival of Christmas. We look forwarding to welcoming visitors to the town and seeing residents take part in the festive activities.’’

Flemingate Christmas Lights Switch On - November 15
The start of Christmas festivities in Beverley sees a range of entertainment, music and fireworks from 5.00 – 7.15pm including the chance to visit a range of retailers and restaurants on site.
Reindeer Rampage - November 4 to December 31
Visitors can help round up the herd for Father Christmas by taking part in this year’s Reindeer Rampage Christmas Trail. Taking place across Beverley town centre, you can pick up a free map and reindeer mask from the Tourist Information Centre on Cross Street. Find out more here.
Beverley Minster Christmas Tree Festival - December 4 to December 8
More than 150 impressive Christmas trees will be on display in Beverley Minster. With entry only costing £5 for adults and free for children under 18, this is not an event to be missed. Find out more here.
Festive Saturday Market - Saturdays in December
The much-loved weekly Saturday market will continue throughout December. On Saturday, December 7, you can look forward to a special festive edition prior to the Beverley Festival of Christmas.
Beverley Festival of Christmas - December 8
Beverley Festival of Christmas is returning for its 28th year.
Supported by the Beverley Arms, the historic town will be transformed into a Christmas wonderland with more than 120 stalls. A parade from 10am will see Santa and his reindeer join in the celebration and with fairground rides, food and drink and brass bands - there's something for everyone.
North Bar’s Georgian Quarter will be also feature traders from East Yorkshire and an interactive ice sculpture. Find out more here.
Danny Martin, Marketing Director at Daniel Thwaites, which owns The Beverley Arms and is sponsoring the Festival of Christmas event for the fifth year running, said: ‘’Christmas is a special time of year where people get to enjoy themselves with loved ones and Beverley’s Festival of Christmas plays a huge part in that.
‘’Not only does the event raise the profile of Beverley, but it is essential to local businesses, particularly in the run up to Christmas, and we’re happy to be a part of the celebrations. The Festival of Christmas is a wonderful initiative for both local and surrounding communities to experience.”
