Bianca Balti reveals cancer diagnosis

Model Bianca Balti has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

The Italian star, who is perhaps best known as the face of many Dolce & Gabbana campaigns, took to Instagram on Sunday to reveal that she learned she had the disease just a week ago.

Alongside a series of photos showing her in a hospital gown in bed, Bianca explained that she went to the emergency room on 8 September after suffering a lot of pain.

"Last Sunday, I checked myself into the ER to find out that my lower abdominal pain was stage 3C ovarian cancer," she wrote alongside a series of photos showing her appear smiling and happy alongside hospital staff. "It's been a week full of fear, pain and tears but mostly love, hope, laughter, and strength. (check these pics out for proof, lol)."

Bianca didn't share details of her treatment plan.

However, the mother-of-two emphasised that she is optimistic about her health.

"I have a long journey ahead, but I know I will beat this. For myself, my loved ones (my daughters are at the top of the list), and all of you who need strength, you can borrow some of mine 'cause I have loads," the 40-year-old continued. "Life happens; give it a reason.

So far, cancer has given me a chance to find beauty through life's hurdles."

Following Bianca's post, many of her celebrity friends offered messages of support.

"You've got this my love !! You're a warrior," wrote Shanina Shaik, while Gigi Hadid commented, "Oh B. Sending you so much love and strength."

And Elsa Hosk added, "Bianca. So, so sorry you can beat this you got this!!!! Sending you so, so much love and healing power."
