Bid to convert old Paisley nursing home into flats approved by Renfrewshire Council
Plans to convert an old nursing home in Paisley into 17 flats – which were previously the subject of a site visit – have been given the go ahead by Renfrewshire Council.
The development, which includes associated parking and landscaping, will take place at the former Priory Park Nursing Home in Castlehead’s Main Road.
Elected members agreed at Tuesday's planning and climate change policy board that the application for the relevant permission, brought forward by PZ Investment, should be granted subject to conditions.

They accepted the recommendation of planning officers, who deemed the proposal to be in line with the provisions of the development plan.
The blueprint was initially considered by elected members in August, but a decision was delayed after a request for a site visit from Councillor Kenny MacLaren, an SNP representative for Paisley Northwest, was accepted.
At the time, he referenced comments submitted by roads development, which focused on the condition of footways, lighting and carriageway along Main Road and issues around parking.
A site visit subsequently took place in October. This was outlined in a report to the board, which explained: "The planning and climate change policy board at its meeting on August 27 considered the attached report of handling and decided to continue the consideration of the report to allow a site visit to take place.
"A site visit took place on October 15 and those members attending viewed the application site and its surroundings.
"The site visit was conducted in accordance with the protocol for site visits and members attending did not discuss the merits of the proposal.
"For clarity, the proposed development has a parking shortfall of two spaces however it is considered that the proposed development is capable of positive consideration given the site is within walking distance to the A761 and George Street which have direct links to the town centre, while on street parking could be accommodated should the need arise."
