Warning: The following article contains spoilers for The Big Bang Theory's season 11 premiere.

The Big Bang Theory left us on a major Sheldon and Amy cliffhanger last spring, but luckily all was revealed in Monday night's season premiere. But are they actually engaged?!

That's the question that the CBS sitcom left us with last May, as Sheldon (Jim Parsons) flew all the way to New Jersey to declare his love for Amy (Mayim Bialik) with a marriage proposal - only to be cut off before she answered!

All summer long, the cast and crew of The Big Bang Theory have kept us guessing with cryptic clues and evasive interview answers leading up to Monday's return episode 'The Proposal Proposal'.

The season premiere opened up just where the season 10 finale left off, with Sheldon having just proposed to Amy. Unfortunately, he decided to answer a call from Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Penny (Kaley Cuoco) before she could accept.

In typical Sheldon fashion, he managed to blurt out that he'd kissed Ramona (Riki Lindhome) while trying to explain to Leonard and Penny why he'd flown all the way to New Jersey on a whim.

"In that moment, I knew Amy is the only woman I ever wanted to kiss for the rest of my life," he admitted. "So I came all the way to New Jersey to ask her to marry her."

Luckily, Amy wasn't too upset about being left in the real life equivalent of being on hold, and she accepted Sheldon's proposal, after he revealed that he'd received approval from Stephen Hawking. (And Amy's father too.)
