Big Brother 2024 is returning to ITV very soon, proving that you can’t keep a good reality TV format down for too long before it demands to return to the Diary Room to air a few grievances.

The popular and long-running live-streamed series — which sees a group of strangers forced to live together in the Big Brother house while doing their best not to drive each other mad — is enjoying a later-in-life resurgence.

After a successful reboot in late 2023 which saw it switch from its former Channel 5 home to rival broadcaster ITV, we were introduced to a new group of fresh faces-turned-reality-TV-show stars before a celebrity spin-off edition aired earlier this year featuring the likes of Fern Britton and Louis Walsh.

Cut to a few months later and a new version of the primary series is in the works. Read on to discover when you can watch Big Brother 2024, who’ll be hosting it and who its new housemates might be.

The hosts for Big Brother 2024 are yet to be officially confirmed but it’s all but guaranteed to be AJ Odudu and Will Best, the duo who began fronting the show when it made its ITV debut in late 2023.

The pair had big shoes to fill, replacing previous host Davina McCall, a star who was intrinsically linked to Big Brother having hosted the show since its UK debut on Channel 4 in 2000 until it jumped to Channel 5 in 2011. From there, the series was presented by former housemate turned-host Brian Dowling for two years, before being superceded by Emma Willis who fronted the show until it was axed in 2018.

Yes. The first teaser for Big Brother 2024 was launched by ITV in July. It revealed the brand new logo (an eye dripping in rainbow-hued paint) and confirmed the show would return to ITV2 this autumn, along with a brief spin of the iconic Paul Oakenfold-penned theme tune.

Shortly afterwards, a new trailer arrived showing a new batch of guinea pigs entering the Big Brother house... literally. Watch it below:

Those who make it onto the show are faced with the real challenge: surviving long enough to ditch the drama, win over the public vote and emerge as its champion.

Big Brother winners not only have their lives transformed overnight thanks to their intensive stint in the public eye but they also bag a cash prize of £100,000, making it a life-changing experience. However, as multiple series have shown us, you don't always have to win to become a bonafide Big Brother star.

Big Brother 2024 starts on Sunday, 6 October on ITV2 and ITVX
