Big Brother is at its best when it captures truly life-changing moments on camera - such was the case in Monday's episode (October 8) when housemate Cameron shared his truth with fellow housemates.

Viewers have seen the 18-year-old vlogger coming to grips with a realisation about himself, with support and guidance from his friend Lewis F, over the last several weeks.

Last Friday night (October 5), in the aftermath of fellow housemate Cian admitting a crush on him, Cameron came out as gay in front of the whole of the nation during an emotional chat with Lewis.

"Sometimes you gotta say, 'F**k it' and just do it'," he reasoned.

The rest of the house have only known that Cameron was struggling with some unresolved issues, but in Monday's episode, Lewis F helped him share his authentic self with the group while they were gathered for nominations.

"Because I've got such great connections with you, I wanted to be all honest with you," he told them.

Cameron admitted to the other housemates that he couldn't yet "say the word", so Lewis instead offered to ask him if he was gay to make it easier. While LGBTQ+ housemates Brooke and Cian broke down into floods to tears, Cameron answered: "Yes."

"I just hope you will all sort of think of me in the same way," he told them as the house rallied around with hugs, with Tomasz beaming: "Welcome my homosexual friend! Join us in the rainbow!"

"That was amazing. You should be proud of yourself," Kenaley told him, with Cian adding: "Welcome to the rest of your life."

As the housemates literally gave him a round of applause, Lewis F went to the Diary Room to agree to Big Brother's offer to throw a party for Cameron in exchange for 150 Big Coins. The shindig even included Cam's favourite: cheesecake.

The coming out led the other LGBTQ+ members of the house reflecting on their own coming out stories, as you can see below. In the Diary Room, Cameron admitted it was a huge relief that he finally could be his true self with the other housemates.

"All the housemates were fantastic, it was fantastic to get that reaction... I know how alone you can feel. I know even in this process, I just could not see doing what I did today," he admitted.

Asked by Big Brother if he had any advice for others struggling to come out, he urged them: "Just keep fighting. There is light at the end of the tunnel."

Big Brother continues at the later time of 10.15pm on Tuesday (October 9) on Channel 5, followed by Bit on the Side at 11.15pm.
