What is summer without Big Brother?

The Channel 5 reality show has had a delayed start thanks to Caroline Flack playing Cupid over in Spain for Love Island – but it’s on its way.

Bit on the Side host Rylan Clark-Neal sent fans into a frenzy on Tuesday morning after he teased some big news on his Twitter account.

The TV star, who set up camp in the famous house in January 2013, told fans to “keep your eyes peeled” on Wednesday, which will mark the shows 18th anniversary.

He tweeted: “Eye spy...... That tomorrow is @bbuk ‘s 18th Birthday.... Big Brother is coming and on his milestone birthday you should keep your EYEs peeled x.”

Clark-Neal has been teasing fans with news ahead of the series start later this year. He tweeted a ‘video loading’ clip alongside the caption “nearly” as well as posting: “18 years ago today 10 housemates began to change the future of British television...... 4 days later the first ever episode of @bbuk aired....”

Show bosses are keeping schtum on start dates, with reports suggesting the celebrity instalment will air before the civilian series.

Rumoured names currently include former Coronation Street star Ryan Thomas, who is reportedly in talks to sign a £500,000 deal.

Other names being bandied about are TOWIE’s Bobby Norris, Celebs Go Dating star Charlotte Dawson, Sinitta, Queer Eye’s Jonathan Van Ness, former Corrie star Georgia May Foote, kidnap victim Chloe Ayling, the Chuckle Brothers and S Club 7’s Paul Cattermole.

Megan Markle's sister Samantha and Katie Price's ex Kieran Hayler have also been rumoured.

Emma Willis will return to host Big Brother and Celebrity Big Brother later this year.
