Big Brother has responded to viewers' bullying claims following a huge row between Chanelle and Lotan in last night's show (June 23).

The biggest row of the series so far, which kicked off over ketchup and sun cream (yup, really), exploded in an expletive-filled screaming match, that had viewers calling Lotan out for bullying – and the rest of us wondering what the heck they were actually shouting.

Channel 5 told Digital Spy: "Big Brother has strict protocols in place and will not tolerate behaviour from any housemate likely to cause offence in the house."

It seemed like a row was inevitable after Lotan was outed for a series of pranks, which included putting a plastic mouse in Hannah's bed and splashing Deborah's bed with chocolate and water.

However, when Chanelle and newbie Isabelle tried to give him a taste of his own medicine by dumping ketchup and suntan lotion all over the kitchen floor, Lotan snapped at her.

When in the Diary Room later, Chanelle admitted she felt physically "intimidated" by Lotan and viewers felt uncomfortable with his continuous targeting of Chanelle, Hannah and Deborah as well as new housemate Isabelle.

It's not the only intimidation accusation this series with most recent evictee Rebecca Jane, claiming she was "living in fear" over a series of confrontations with Joe before her exit.

Big Brother continues tonight (June 24) at 9pm on Channel 5.
