The wait for the return of Big Brother is almost over as ITV has announced the air date of the upcoming series. Hosted by AJ Odudu and Will Best, the live launch will reveal a new batch of housemates as they prepare to take up residence in the newly painted house.

In usual fashion, fans can expect face-to-face nominations, elaborate tasks and live evictions plus “new twists and turns with all the must-see action playing out inside this famous abode”.

Once again, the public will be instrumental in deciding who walks away as the winner as they get to vote throughout. The show will return on Sunday, October 6 at 9 pm.

Big Brother: Late & Live is also set to return to ITV2 and ITVX to offer viewers exclusives with a star-studded panel of celebrity guests. It will also remain the only place to watch evictees first live interview with AJ and Will.

The successful reality TV franchise first hit screens 25 years ago in the Netherlands in 1999. Since then, over 550 series of the show have aired around the world in 70 markets.

Globally, the format has maintained huge popularity and is one of Banijay Entertainment’s top three formats, launching in four new markets in 2023, and airing in 13 territories last year.

The original show aired on Channel 4 between 2000-2010, before moving to Channel 5 in 2011 and ending in 2018. It has seen a handful of Merseyside contestants including series 15 winner Mark Byron and last year’s Paul Blackburn.

The Liverpool ECHO will continue to bring you updates on the show as and when they are announced.
