'Big Brother' viewers concerned over 'gaunt' John McCririck

Big Brother viewers have expressed their concern for former Celebrity Big Brother contestant John McCririck, after he appeared on its spin-off show looking gaunt and frail.

Racing tipster McCririck, who featured in the 2005 series of the show, was a guest panellist on last night’s Big Brother’s Bit On The Side, with host Rylan Clark-Neal.

But viewers soon took to Twitter to voice their concerns.

McCririck told The Sun in June this year that he had gone on a diet after ballooning to 19 stone, thanks to a decades of eating junk food.

But he stressed at the time that he was ‘not ill’.

He put his loss of three-and-a-half stone down to cutting out roast potatoes, chips and puddings.

However, a representative for the tipster told the MailOnline that he has recently been battling a chest infection.

“What started with flu in the New Year led to a serious chest infection, he is recovering well but slowly,” they confirmed.
