Comedy fans will be offered free rides by Uber at a one-off gig to get London laughing again.

The Evening Standard’s Big Comedy Night in association with Uber is at Underbelly Festival, Cavendish Square on Tuesday and is headlined by comic Phil Wang.

The star known for Have I Got News For You and Taskmaster, recently appeared in his own Netflix special Philly Philly Wang Wang.

He will be joined by acts including Evelyn Mok, Huge Davies, Jessica Fostekew and Babatúndé Aléshé with tickets on sale for £15.

To encourage Londoners to enjoy the return of live comedy safely, Uber will offer all audience members a unique promo code worth up to £20 off future trips.

Ash Kebriti, UK & Ireland General Manager of Uber, said: “London’s nightlife and entertainment industry has had an especially tough time with live performances on hold. This Big Comedy Night will showcase some of the best up-and-coming talent to give us all some much-needed laughs.”

It is not the first time the firm has employed its fleet of drivers to get London moving again.

It offered free rides to more than 50 mass vaccination centres earlier this year.

Guests must wear a mask when moving around in the venue and other Covid safety measures will be taken
