Yahoo News Big Finish is reuniting the Torchwood team
OK, so it's not quite the on-screen comeback we're still holding out for, but an official Torchwood reunion complete with all five members of the original team from the Doctor Who spin-off is on its way.
Courtesy of Big Finish, the full Torchwood team – Captain Jack Harkness, Gwen Cooper, Ianto Jones, Owen Harper and Toshiko Sato – are to be reunited for brand new audio play Believe.
It's been 10 whole years since the full Torchwood line-up has got together – not even for Big Finish's monthly Torchwood adventures or special releases, so yeah, this is a big deal.
Torchwood: Believe, which will be available to download or buy on CD this April, will see the team reunite to face aliens, jeopardy and "the worst of humanity" (!).
Writer Guy Adams revealed the sheer feat of getting the cast (John Barrowman, Eve Myles, Gareth David-Lloyd, Burn Gorman and Naoko Mori) back together to Big Finish, admitting that it required something 'big and complex'.
"It's been ten years since there's been an adventure featuring Jack, Gwen, Ianto, Tosh and Owen, and coming up with something big enough – and complex enough – to need them was great fun.
"After all, taking down an entire religion isn't easy. But if anyone can do it…"
And not only do fans have Torchwood: Believe to look forward to – there's also the conclusion of the Aliens Among Us boxset on the horizon, too.
The upcoming four episodes for the third (and final)Aliens Among Us series are set to be released in February. So uh, that's our Valentine's Day plans sorted, then.
