Warning: this article contains big spoilers from season one of Big Little Lies.

Big Little Lies didn't seem that ambiguous in its ending for Alexander Skarsgård's domestic abuser Perry Wright.

During the season one finale, we found out that he was the one who was killed at the party after being pushed down a flight of stairs by Bonnie (Zoe Kravitz).

While he looked pretty dead to us as he lied on the stairs covered in blood, it looks like Perry could make a return in season two... and not just in flashbacks.

According to TVLine, Skarsgård is expected to return to the show for the next batch of episodes.

The star also teased earlier this month that his character might not be dead, telling People: "I don't even know if I'm really dead or not. I feel okay right now but we'll see."

The HBO show was originally conceived as a one-off series, though proved so popular that it was given a second season.

Big Little Lies recently took home a handful of awards at the Golden Globes, including a win for Skarsgård and on-screen wife Nicole Kidman.

However, it looks like we'll have to wait a while to see what happens next, as HBO president Casey Bloys recently confirmed that it wouldn't air until 2019.

While details are naturally under wraps, we do know that director Jean-Marc Vallée will not return due to a busy schedule, and will be replaced by Oscar-winning director Andrea Arnold.

Big Little Lies airs on HBO.
