Big name retailer to open inside Hanley's 'struggling' Potteries Centre
Big-name retailer Holland & Barrett is to open inside Stoke-on-Trent's main shopping centre. The chain has branches up and down the country selling health and wellness products.
Now it has been revealed that a shop is to launch at Hanley's Potteries Centre in the spring. An exact date will be confirmed closer to the time.
StokeonTrentLive has approached Holland & Barrett for confirmation on what the opening means for the current store in Upper Market Square. The news is a boost for the shopping centre after losing several big names in 2024 including fashion stores USC, the Stoke City shop and American sportswear retailer Lids.

Like many other places across the UK, the Potteries Centre has been 'struggling' following the closures as shoppers increasingly spend online or at out-of-town retail parks where parking is free.
Centre director Amy Whittaker said: “Holland & Barrett is a very welcome addition to The Potteries Centre and we’re delighted the brand has committed itself to an ongoing presence in Hanley. We can’t wait for our visitors to explore their new store and the fantastic range of products available.
"As well as offering a huge range of leading brands, Holland & Barrett is the ideal spot to get guidance on your wellbeing, and we know it will be a huge success upon opening.”
