Biker in Royal Stoke as emergency services called to North Staffordshire smash

A biker was taken to hospital following a collision with a van. Emergency services were called to the scene in Cheadle this morning.

The alarm was raised at just after 8.30am with police and paramedics sent to The Green at the junction of Brookhouse Way. Now paramedics have confirmed the motorcyclist was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of a collision between a motorbike and a van near to the junction of Brookhouse Way and The Green - one ambulance attended the scene.

"On arrival we discovered one patient, a man, who was the motorcyclist. He was treated for injuries not believed to be serious before being taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital."

Staffordshire Police say the biker had suffered 'a possible shoulder/collar bone injury.'
