Biker suffers potential ‘life-changing injuries’ in Sutton Coldfield crash with car

A motorcycle rider has suffered serious injuries in Sutton Coldfield in a crash involving a car. The collision took place at the junction of Signal Hayes Road and Fox Hollies Road in Walmley shortly after 11am on Sunday (June 2).

An eyewitness spotted Fox Hollies Road was taped off close to the junction of Signal Hayes Road, near to the Gardeners World and Supplies shop. An air ambulance was called to the scene and landed in a field nearby. West Midlands Police confirmed the motorbike rider has to be taken to hospital with ‘life-changing injuries’.

The witness said the air ambulance took the biker to hospital. The woman driving the car was also taken to hospital with less serious injuries.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “We were called to a collision at the junction of Signal Hayes Road and Fox Hollies Road in Sutton Coldfield - just after 11am on Sunday (June 2) - involving a car and a motorbike.

“The driver of the car, a woman, was taken to hospital with injuries not thought to be life-threatening. A man, the motorcycle rider, was taken to hospital with potentially life-changing injuries."
