Bikini Kill announce first live UK date in 23 years: How to get tickets for Brixton Academy show

Bikini Kill have announced their first live date in the UK for over 23 years.

The group, made up of singer Kathleen Hanna, drummer Tobi Vail and bassist Kathi Wilcox, have announced plans to perform at the Brixton Academy on June 10.

The Washington band, who developed a passionate cult following in the 90s, announced on Twitter they were planning to return to the UK after more than two decades away.

“London, we’re coming back for the first time in 23 years!” they wrote.

The band, widely regarded as pioneers of the riot grrrl movent, announced they were reforming last month, with shows already lined up in Los Angeles and New York.

Bikini Kill released their last album Reject American in 1996. Since leaving the group in 1997, Hanna went on to perform with Le Tigre and as a solo artist.
