Yahoo News Bill O'Brien addresses George Floyd's death: 'What is going on in this country is wrong'
Houston Texans head coach Bill O’Brien was expected to introduce new safety Michael Thomas on a conference call with the media Wednesday. But before he got to that, O’Brien decided to share his thoughts on George Floyd’s death.
O’Brien, 50, spoke for nearly 13 minutes. He addressed a number of topics during his statement, including police brutality.
O’Brien also admitted that he needs to do more than simply make a statement, but said he was “emotional” and “sad” following Floyd’s death.

He added that he spoke with wide receiver Kenny Stills about why Stills takes a knee before games.

Thomas, 30, eventually was introduced as a member of the Texans. He spoke about O’Brien’s statement, saying O’Brien was “thorough and spot-on.” Thomas admitted that took him by surprise.

Thomas said other players have reached out to each other behind the scenes to organize. He added that people who want to help right now can “call for justice.”
