Warning: this article contains spoilers from this week's Doctor Who episode 'The Pyramid at the End of the World'.

Following tonight's (May 27) doomsday-focused episode of Doctor Who, it seems we're getting a bit more delight next week.

More specifically Missy, who has been in the vault all this time and now teams up with Bill after this week's cliffhanger.

After Bill's sacrifice to save the Doctor by restoring his sight, the monks have taken over the world in 'The Lie of the Land'.

"They've always been here," she declares. "All that we believe now is a lie."

However, it seems Missy is out for whoever let the monks into the world, and everyone's searching for the Doctor after he's disappeared for six months.

He of course is still alive, and reveals he's joined the monks – though things appear to get pretty extreme as we see Bill shoot the Doctor. Yikes.

The place where the shooting happens also looks like the same place where the Doctor appears to regenerate in previous trailers – though whether this is the real deal remains a mystery.

This week's episode ended pretty tensely, as the Doctor finally revealed his blindness to Bill after a few episodes of hiding it.

Yet he was in a bit of a pickle after needing his sight to get out of a chamber containing a potentially apocalyptic virus, with Bill nobly requesting the monks restore his sight in return for taking over the world.

Doctor Who airs on BBC One.
