Bin deliberately set alight in Leicestershire arson attack

A deliberate fire in the garden of a Leicestershire home has sparked a police investigation after a bin was set alight near the house's back door. The incident happened in Berrisford Street, Coalville on Saturday night (November 9).

Leicestershire Police said the fire was started between 11pm and 11.30pm. Officers were called to the scene by Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service at around 12.30am the following day after the blaze was discovered.

Officers say the suspect is believed to have accessed the rear garden through an alleyway at the side of the property. The fire was started in a black dustbin and caused damage to the back door and windows.

No injuries have been reported from the incident, according to police. Officers are now appealing for witnesses who may have been in the area at the time. The force is particularly keen to hear from anyone who was driving in the area and may have captured dashcam footage of any suspicious activity.
