  • TV personality and conservationist Bindi Irwin married longtime boyfriend Chandler Powell on March 25, 2020.

  • The couple had a “small ceremony” with no guests, except for Bindi’s mother, Terri Irwin, and younger brother, Robert Irwin, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

  • Bindi honored her late father, Steve Irwin, by lighting a candle in his memory during her wedding.

It’s official: Bindi Irwin is married.

The 21-year-old shared the exciting news on Instagram shortly after tying the knot with longtime boyfriend Chandler Powell at the Australia Zoo. Bindi and Chandler began dating in 2015 after the two met on a private tour of the Australia Zoo in Queensland. Four years later, he got down on one knee in the same location and proposed.

Bindi’s mother, Terri Irwin, and younger brother, Robert Irwin, both attended the couple's wedding. And as with every part of their lives, the family made a point to remember beloved TV personality Steve Irwin during the special ceremony. The Australian zookeeper died in 2006 after an accident involving an eight-foot-wide stingray.

“Today we celebrated life and revelled in every beautiful moment we shared together in our Australia Zoo gardens,” Bindi wrote on Instagram, sharing wedding details. “Mum helped me get ready, Robert walked me down the aisle, Chandler became my husband, and together we lit a candle in Dad’s memory. We shared tears and smiles and love.”

After planning their wedding for “nearly a year,” the couple decided to have a “small ceremony” with no guests due to the coronavirus pandemic. Although it was a “difficult decision,” it was important for them to “keep everyone safe.” Now, Bindi’s looking forward to sharing photos and videos with family and friends.

The newlyweds were thankful that they “could be there for each other.” And before signing off, the conservationist reminded everyone to “stay safe, social distance, and remember LOVE WINS!”

Here’s to the happy couple!
