Bingo players 'sit on the floor' as hundreds turn up at hall

It was a full house in Huyton last night as customers were turned away from Club 3000 Bingo. The popular bingo hall saw hundreds of people turn out to try their chance at winning some big prize money on Sunday (September 29).

Video footage, which was shared with the ECHO, shows the scenes in Huyton as cars queued to get into the crowded car park; another clip shows inside the heaving bingo hall. Customers told the ECHO how all 800 electronic bingo boards were reportedly full as punters sat on the floor just to be in with their chance of winning the jackpot prize.

Why was Club 3000 Bingo so busy on Sunday you might ask? Well, it turns out players were in with a chance of winning big money.

It was ‘Millionaires night’ at the bingo on Sunday, which meant the prize money was £100,000, one line was £5,000 and two lines were £10,000. One player, who did not want to be named, said: “Someone did win £100,000 but not from Huyton. I go often and usually the money is as high as £1,000. The highest someone won in Huyton yesterday was £2,500.

“I was sitting in the centre of the hall with a table but the tables ran out upstairs and downstairs very quickly. I saw one or two people sitting on the floor when I was walking to the canteen. The bingo sells electronic boards to play the games on and they ran out of them, all 800 of them.”

A spokesperson for Club 3000 Bingo said: "Club 3000 Bingo held their first every 'Millionaires Night' last night whereby all our clubs – 24 participated in the Club 3000 Bingo Family Lin Game. The game went live at 8.50pm on Sunday, September 29, when all of our clubs were linked together for this special game with a life-changing amount of money up for grabs!

"There was a huge jackpot win available of £100,000 which was won by a lucky customer in our Coatbridge club and the £10,000 win if you called on two lines was won at our Cardiff club. The £5,000 1-line pot of money was shared at Blackpool and Doncaster. However, in addition to that the full house calls at our Huyton Club resulted in each of our 11 winners receiving £1,000 each.

"It was a magical night, nine of our clubs were at capacity and we had to turn some customers away, the atmosphere was electric and brought the Club 3000 Bingo clubs together, confirming we give out the biggest prize money!"
