A Birmingham Asda branch has closed following a power cut. The store on the High Street in Kings Heath shut to customers on Wednesday afternoon after suffering an outage.

Engineers are trying to restore power and the chain will let people know when they are ready to reopen.

Customers are advised that other Asda stores across the city remain open as usual.

An Asda spokesperson: "We’ve had to temporarily close our Kings Heath store due to a power outage. We're working hard to get the store back open as soon as possible and would like to thank customers for their patience.

"We'll let the community know as soon as we're back up and running, and in the meantime, can reassure them that all our nearby stores are open as usual."
