Birmingham buses blocked by bad parking as passengers tell of 'so many problems'
A string of badly parked cars forced Birmingham buses to have to divert around them tonight. One passenger said there are 'so many problems' with illegal parking 'holding up traffic' on the city's roads.
NX West Midlands shared the news of the delays following badly parked vehicles on Northfield Road, in Cotteridge, this evening (Thursday, October 10). The number 18 bus was forced to divert to Selly Oak Road and Middleton Hall Road.
Others took to social media to share problems with 'illegal parking' on other routes. One said illegal parking had turned a 20 minute journey into 90 minutes this afternoon.

They shared on X: "Just taken my partner 1hr 30mins to get home on the bus from Bham CC on what should ostensibly be a 15-20 minute journey and that’s leaving work early. So many problems on the bus route with illegal parking holding up traffic."
Taking to X, NX West Midlands posted: "Service Disruption Due to badly parked cars on Northfield Road #Cotteridge 18 will be diverting in both directions via: Selly Oak Road and Middleton Hall Road. We apologise for any disruption to your journey."
The disruption to bus services follows scores of haphazard drivers of illegally parked cars recently being fined in a large police operation in Birmingham. Vehicles were found dumped on and off pavements and at junctions around Nechells.
