A Moseley hair salon issued a 'final farewell' to customers after an 'awful episode' last year. After nearly 10 years, the owner thanked anyone who supported the business and said 'We're all so sad that it couldn't continue'.

Lab Forte opened under the ownership of Alex Thomas in 2015 and was on St Mary's Row. Companies House documents show the salon received a compulsory strike-off notice last July, and the salon was finally dissolved on October 1.

Since then, staff have temporarily operated from nearby Halogenix Hair Salon. Sharing an update on social media this month, Alex addressed the future of staff and issued a final farewell to the shop.

He said: "With a very heavy heart we have to finally say farewell and goodbye to the creative space and hairdressing salon known as Lab Forte.

"The business that stood in the heart of St Mary's Row, Moseley, began in the village in 2015 by director & owner Alexander Thomas. As the business grew, so did its wonderful team.

"A group of individual hairdressers that became a hairdressing family for over nine years, beautifying the wonderful community of B13 and beyond. Sadly HMRC decided to bring a brutal end to the future of what we all loved so dearly back in October.

"As you can all clearly see, Lab Forte has been permanently closed and myself (Alex) and the dedicated team that stood by the business until the very end, have had no other option but to continue their hairdressing work elsewhere. After this awful episode came to an end, Alex managed to position himself back into the city with blacc&Blond salon.

"For all of those committed followers to Lab Forte who enjoyed years of service from the other team members, the rest of the team can be found in your local Moseley salon in Aiden Mcdonnell Hairdressing.

"It has been an absolute pleasure to have been a part of the Moseley community and to have serviced its local people and those further afield. We're all so sad that it couldn't continue.

"We would love to the this opportunity to thank each and every one of you for all of the continued support over the years."
