Birmingham teen 'stabbed walking to catch a bus' as police hunt knifeman
A teenager was 'stabbed walking to catch a bus' in Birmingham this morning. Police were hunting the knifeman following the incident in Washwood Heath.
A 16-year-old suffered serious leg injuries and was rushed to hospital. Police were called to Alum Rock Road, at its junction with Burney Lane, shortly after 8am today, Friday, November 29.
A police cordon had previously been seen on land behind a bus stop between the junction of Cotterills Lane and Burney Lane. No arrests have been made and police inquiries are ongoing.

A police spokesman told BirminghamLive: "We are appealing for witnesses after a 16-year-old boy was stabbed in Washwood Heath.
We were called to Alum Rock Road, at its junction with Burney Lane, shortly after 8am this morning (Friday).
"A 16-year-old boy had been attacked while walking to catch a bus. He was taken to hospital with serious leg injuries.
