'Bitter' Brendan Cole caught 'hurling abuse' at Strictly Come Dancing head judge Shirley Ballas

The feud between Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Brendan Cole and head judge Shirley Ballas seems to be intensifying, with Brendan caught hurling abuse at Shirley after Saturday night’s show, it has been reported.

Brendan is thought to be “bitter” at missing out on the job of head judge after Len Goodman quit the BBC One dance show last year, and has locked horns with Shirley on more than one occasion.

Despite he and his celebrity partner Charlotte Hawkins being eliminated from the competition, the tension between Brendan and the new head judge is said to be “undeniable”, with a source telling The Sun: “Brendan is clearly very bitter about missing out on the role and hasn’t held back on taking out his anger on Shirley.

“He goes out of his way to ignore her backstage during show breaks and makes her feel very uncomfortable.

“Brendan notoriously falls out with fellow dancers, but this row is on a whole other level. Everyone thinks it’s very childish.”

Brendan is said to have been seen shouting at Shirley from the Strictly banister once the cameras stopped rolling after he felt that she had underscored Mollie King’s performance by giving her a six.

This is far from the first time that the pair have shown the tension between them, with judge Bruno Tonioli previously blasting Brendan as “disrespectful” when he argued with Shirley over Charlotte’s score during one of the live shows.

When Shirley suggested that Brendan play back the dance to understand why she had given Charlotte a three, Brendan snapped back: “I will my dear, I will” – forcing Bruno to intervene, telling the dancer: “I’m not an expert – I’ve only done 300 shows – but I think she’s right and you should be more respectful to a lady.”
