Blaby council by-election triggered after two members resign
Two seats are up for grabs when a Leicestershire council goes to the polls at the end of the month. The by-election has been triggered after two Blaby parish councillors resigned their seats.
A few familiar faces will be vying for the newly opened positions in the Blaby South ward, including two serving members of Blaby District Council, and a former Reform UK candidate at July's General Election. Liberal democrat councillors Paul Hartshorn and Ande Savage have put themselves forward for the race, along with Danuta Jeeves who will be running as an Independent Reformer this time around.

John Andrew Bloxham, of Reform UK, and Sharon Wendy Coe, who has not declared a political party, have also put themselves forward for the seats. No information has been given as to those that left the roles. When LeicestershireLive contacted the parish council to ask who had resigned, a spokeswoman said: "I would rather not give the names."
The deadline to register to vote in the by-election is midnight on Tuesday, November 12. Information on how to do this can be found on the Blaby District Council website.
Voter ID will be required at the polling station. Polling day is set for Thursday, November 28, with residents able to cast their vote between 7am and 10pm.
