A Black Friday mistake most people make will leave them "worse off" tomorrow, a content creator has warned. Taking to the social media platform, Louis (@louis_wb_) revealed the "biggest Black Friday mistake" that "99% of people" make year on year.

"You can see up to 90% [off] in sales," he explained. "However, the biggest mistake on Black Friday is, people buy stuff that they don't actually need or [didn't want] in the past. Instead of saving yourself money, you've actually made yourself worse off by purchasing that product that you didn't need or want anyway."

"Make a list of stuff that you want now," he advised. "If it goes on sale, fantastic. You save yourself some money. But don't buy outside of that list." In reply, a viewer wrote: "On top of that, some businesses raise their prices in increments in the months leading up to Black Friday.

"Not even a real discount." Another viral warning has been shared widely, with a content creator saying: "RTSYFASYAF part 14: It’s Black Friday week and it’s my mission to fill your feed with as much savvy spending advice as I can to offset alllllll the noise that’ll be all over social media.

"Here’s the realisation: none of it matters. You won’t regret missing a deal in the grand scheme of your life. While the threat of regret feels so real at the time (and yes, you might regret missing out on a discount if it would genuinely have saved you money), it’s not REAL regret. It will pass and it won’t affect your life."

The warning from the consumer expert goes on to state: "So if any of your spending this Black Friday is driven by not wanting to miss out on a good deal… just remember, you won’t regret it for long."
