Black Friday Shoppers ‘To Wear Rugby Pads And Bubble Wrap’ To Avoid Injury

Anxious bargain-hunters claim they may wear rugby pads or bubble wrap to avoid injury during the chaos of this year’s Black Friday.

At least, that is what one or two tweeters have claimed after the retail carnage that stores witnessed during last year’s shopping event.

One person wrote: “Popping on my son’s rugby pads and scrum cap.”

A follower replied: “Don’t forget your crash helmet and bubble wrap.”

Whether these claims are serious or not, body protection would certainly have helped last year, after fights broke out between shoppers desperate to claim bargains for themselves.

Police were called to stores across the country to break up people who squabbled amongst themselves as the one-day sale hit the UK.

Unbelievable scenes saw crowds of people fighting and pulling each other away from cut-price television sets.

Online deals have already begun with bargains going out of stock within minutes of being advertised.

Thousands of workers are expected to take sick days or have already booked holidays so that they can be in the best chance of grabbing the best bargains.

Black Friday is an American tradition that sees shops reduce prices on the first Friday after Thanksgiving.

However, UK retailers have adopted the sale despite having no relevance to the U.S. holiday.
