You are what you eat — isn’t that what people say? Well, there’s actually some truth to that.

Let me explain: Your gut, aka your gastrointestinal system, is responsible for digesting food and turning it into absorbable nutrients and energy. While this might already sound familiar, what you might not know is that a healthy gut could also help you achieve glowing skin, a strong immune system and a healthy mind. Furthermore, anti-inflammatory foods, spices and herbal supplements can help you achieve these wellness benefits.

While some supplements will cost you a pretty penny, Golde products are affordable, and most importantly, effective. Brooklyn-based wellness company Golde sells turmeric-based products that “look good, taste good, and help you feel like your best self,” according to its website.

Co-founder and CEO Trinity Mouzon Wofford told INSCAPE, “I got into turmeric specifically through my mom, who was using it for its anti-inflammatory properties. I noticed a huge difference in my skin and my immune system when I started using it, and that’s where it all started!”

Wofford, who studied pre-med at NYU, co-founded Golde in 2017 with her partner, and since then, has been named on Forbes 30 under 30 list. She additionally became the youngest Black woman to launch a brand at Sephora.

Golde’s first product was the Original Turmeric Latte Blend. If you’ve heard of golden milk, this is basically that, but supercharged. It’s a vegan powder blend made with coconut milk powder, turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, cardamom and black pepper.

Fun fact: Black pepper helps enhance turmeric’s do-good properties. Not only delicious, but the product supports your skin and immune system, as well as helps you to debloat.

Woodward explained, “Turmeric is a really fascinating one because the benefits are from head to toe. Because it’s so anti-inflammatory, it will target any areas of imbalance. Inflammation isn’t just about joint pain — it has a huge impact on your skin, your digestion, your immunity, and even mental health!”

Other Golde wellness powders include the Matcha Turmeric Latte Blend, which mixes in stone-ground Japanese green tea leaves, giving it a natural boost of caffeine, and the Cacao Turmeric Latte Blend, which the brand says is like “hot cocoa with benefits.”

All of the powder blends can be mixed with water, milk, coffee or smoothies and enjoyed hot or cold. A 30-serving bag retails for $29 each, or you can get a multi-sample pack for $22 with three individual servings of each flavor (12 sachets in total).

Personally, I purchased the Original Turmeric Superfood Latte Blend, and after about 30 days of drinking it, I’ll be ordering more. I like to mix mine with hot water or green tea. The taste is all-around pleasant with a mildly spiced flavor. I usually drink a glass in the morning or at night after dinner, and I swear I feel less bloated, even on days where I’ve overindulged in pizza or other dairy-loaded foods.

In my experience, the product really helps aid in my digestion. And I’m definitely not the only fan of Golde’s latte powder.

“Love, love, love Golde and their products. They make it so easy to incorporate more turmeric into your system with this drink! I notice a difference in my digestion and skin, and I am so thankful,” wrote one Sephora reviewer.

But beauty goes beyond powders for Golde. The brand also sells pure matcha and face masks on its own website.

You can purchase Golde’s products on its own website and at Sephora.
