Black Panther star Michael B Jordan has hinted at an X-Men-style relationship between his villain Erik Killmonger and Chadwick Boseman's lead T'Challa.

Jordan compared his character's differences with Black Panther to that of Professor X and Magneto in the series, suggesting their worldviews will collide.

"Me and T'Challa have two totally different approaches to the throne as well and you see those two opposing sides clash," Jordan told Entertainment Weekly at Comic-Con.

"So you can call it a Magneto/Professor X type of chemistry. That's all I can give away."

In X-Men, the two's relationship deteriorates after their different views on mutants come to the fore, Magneto suggesting they rise up while X would rather they assimilate with humans.

It seems then that Killmonger and T'Challa will have a disagreement or two over how Wakanda should be run.

During Comic-Con, Marvel premiered some new footage from the movie – though unfortunately it has not made its way online yet.

The footage has been described as a pretty epic fight scene involving T'Challa, Okoye and Nakia, the latter played by Danai Gurira and Lupita Nyong'o.

Black Panther will be released on February 9, 2018 in the UK and February 16, 2018 in the US.
