Sorry, Bucky fans, don't expect to see the Winter Soldier in Black Panther... even though you probably had every right to.
Sebastian Stan, who plays Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier in the MCU, has confirmed he will NOT be appearing in the movie – despite previous evidence strongly suggesting tat he would.
In the post-credits scenes of Captain America: Civil War, the Winter Soldier could be seen being bought to Wakanda and given protection by T'Challa while he went into cryo-sleep.
Despite fan hopes and expectations he would resume the role in the forthcoming Black Panther movie, it seems Bucky will instead remain on ice, as Sebastian Stan has denied the character will make an appearance in the movie.
The good news is that Stan did promise the issue of the Winter Soldier's absence will get resolved in Avengers: Infinity War.
However, seeing as that comes after Black Panther's release, it looks like we'll be waiting for his absence to be explained.
"I am not in Black Panther," Stan told Good Morning America.
"I did not have any relation with Black Panther. No, I'm not, I really am not. But that gets resolved in [Infinity War]."
While Bucky has bailed, Black Panther does have some pretty exciting new casting in the form of Walking Dead star Danai Gurira.
Black Panther will be released on February 9, 2018 in the UK and February 16, 2018 in the US. Watch a trailer here:
