'Black Pastors Matter' Rally Held in Georgia as Trial Continues Over Death of Ahmaud Arbery

Crowds gathered in Brunswick, Georgia, on November 18, as the trial of three men accused of killing Ahmaud Arbery continued.

This footage, filmed by Hope McMath, shows group of people chanting “justice for Ahmaud”, some of them carrying signs reading “Black pastors matter”, near a mural of Arbery in Brunswick.

The gathering was called by Rev Al Sharpton following remarks by a defense attorney in which he reportedly said he didn’t want “any more Black pastors” sitting with Arbery’s family in court.

Arbery was running when he was shot and killed on February 23 last year. Three men – Gregory McMichael, 64, Travis McMichael, 34, and William “Roddie” Bryan, 50 – are facing charges including murder. Credit: Hope McMath via Storyful
