Blackpool tipped as 'perfect setting' for potential Inbetweeners stag-do reunion
Blackpool would be the “perfect” setting for a no-holds-barred stag do if a rumoured new Inbetweeners movie was made, an industry expert believes.
The legendary Lancashire seaside town has been tipped to provide the ultimate venue to reunite Simon, Will, Jay and Neil for a boozy, caper-filled stag. Inbetweeners star Joe Thomas, who shot to fame in the teen coming of age sitcom, recently revealed he and his co-stars would consider returning for a third instalment – potentially based around a pre-wedding celebration in Las Vegas.
However Matt Mavir, who runs the UK’s leading stag and hen organiser Last Night of Freedom, believes Blackpool’s 'anything goes atmosphere' and 'tacky charm' make it the only choice for the comedy’s hapless heroes.

"We’d love to see the Inbetweeners boys back on our screens and the idea of them on a stag do sounds perfect, but for me, Blackpool is the perfect choice," said Matt. "People know what to expect in Blackpool and that’s part of its appeal - it’s tacky fun and debauchery, a celebration of a traditional tongue-in-cheek style of partying that never goes out of fashion.
"It’s the ultimate British destination for one of the most iconic British comedies. While it would be interesting to see the lads as the fish out of water in Las Vegas, who wouldn’t want to see Simon flying down the Big One with a hangover, Will in his swimming trunks in the freezing Irish sea or Neil throwing some shapes in the bars on the Promenade?"
The Inbetweeners ran for three series from 2008, and followed the embarrassing escapades of four teenage boys as they navigated school and sixth form. Smash hit movies were released in 2011 and 2014, following the boys on an 18-30 holiday in Crete and later a trip around Australia.
Earlier this year it was revealed that the North West destination attracted more stags and hens than the ‘new wave’ of Eastern European party capitals like Tallinn, Riga, Vilnius, Bratislava or Bucharest. Last Night of Freedom research uncovered that Blackpool’s traditional charms were still attracting the punters, with hundreds of revellers descending on the resort every weekend.
