Bloc Party to tour debut album Silent Alarm in full

Just over 13 years ago, Bloc Party released Silent Alarm, catapulting the indie band to international stardom and leading to over a million album sales worldwide.

The band are now reviving the Mercury Prize-nominated record, announcing a six-date European tour where they will play Silent Alarm once again.

After playing Amsterdam, Paris, Berlin, Brussels, and Dublin, the four-piece will conclude the tour with a headline show at London’s Alexandra Palace.

Unfortunately, the original line-up will not be getting back together for the tour, Matt Tong (drums) and Gordon Moakes (bass) deciding not to join Kele Okereke (vocals) and Russell Lissack (guitar).

Tickets for the shows go on sale this Friday (23 March).

Bloc Party’s original line-up released four albums in total, following up Silent Alarm with A Weekend in the City, Intimacy, and Four.

Moaks and Tong both left during the band’s post-Intimacy hiatus, Okereke and Lissack being joined by Justin Harris (bass) and Louise Bartle (drums).

Together, the new line-up released Hymns, featuring the track "The Love Within”. The album charted at 12, their lowest charting album to date.
