UCLA gymnast wows the crowd with hip-hop moves during her floor routine

Sophina DeJesus of the University of California gymnastics team delivered a near-perfect floor routine but the moments in between her tumbling runs are the reason why she’s gained so much popularity.

DeJesus was competing against the Utah Utes at her home arena on Saturday. She took her floor routine to a whole other level by adding in some hip-hop moves, NBC News reports.

The combination of her creative acrobatics along with her unexpected dance moves, which included the whip, nae-nae and dab is the reason a Facebook video of her routine garnered over 23 million views.

The college senior wowed the crowd along with her teammates, who were cheering her on the sidelines as she stuck every single landing.

“I love dancing,” DeJesus told The New York Times about her unorthodox dance routine. “I wanted to end my senior year with a bang.”

While she didn’t finish with a perfect 10, DeJesus came close with a 9.925 score at the end of her routine.
