Blue candidly addressed their financial trouble in a lively interview on This Morning on Wednesday (October 18).

The boys are telling all about the highs and lows of boyband superstardom in their new memoir Blue: All Rise, Our Story, including the financial struggles they faced after their self-financed album Roulette failed to top the UK album chart.

They opened up about facing bankruptcy in the past with Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby in a live interview, where they tried to correct misconceptions about their lean years.

"When you hear the word, 'bankruptcy', you have this idea you have no money, but we chose to go down the route for business purposes," Simon Webbe explained, adding: "We're still here."

Duncan James concurred: "There was lots of press around it at the time, claiming we wasted our money, and didn't invest wisely, but that's not the case.

"We were sued by management who tried to screw us over big time, so we liquidated the company. They went after each one of us at a time."

Looking back on that period, Antony Costa admitted that he was fearful of what bankruptcy could mean for both his career and his family.

Costa explained: "Were were going on tour with Ant and Dec when I got the call saying, 'You're going bankrupt'... I had the baby, and it spiralled from there, but I was like, 'I've got friends and family, got health'."

"We've stuck by each other as a band and not many have," Lee Ryan interjected.

We suspect that some of the guys are in a much better place financially these days, especially after both Lee and Duncan landed on-going roles in EastEnders and Hollyoaks respectively.

Blue: All Rise, Our Story is out on Thursday (October 19). A new album and a tour are also being planned for the months ahead.
