Yahoo News Blue's Duncan James says he's "proud to be gay"
Duncan James has posted a tribute to his new boyfriend on social media, saying he's "proud to be gay" and is "finally happy" in his own skin.
The Blue singer and former Hollyoaks star initially shared a loved-up selfie with his partner Rodrigo Reis over the weekend, captioning it: "Cute pic alert!! 🚨 Such a beautiful person inside and out. Thankyou @rodrigolopesreis for making me smile."
The next day, Duncan shared the picture on Twitter too as he reflected on the "amazing response" the picture received and his own journey to coming out.

"I posted this pic on my Insta yesterday & couldn't get over the amazing response, comments and love from people," he wrote on Twitter.
"I didn't identify as a gay man for many years because of my own issues with coming out, but finally im happy in my skin & this guy next 2 me makes me proud 2 be gay [sic]."
Duncan came out as gay over 10 years ago following a difficult period of mental health struggles, and the singer-turned-actor recently opened up about that time to Digital Spy as he admitted what some of his biggest fears were around the decision to come out.
"I think for me I was worried I'd lose a fanbase, being in Blue and having a predominately female audience. I was worried I'd let the boys down," he explained.
"I was worried that I'd let my mother down, I was worried my friends and family would reject me and I had all these fears that you allow to build up until it becomes a huge thing inside, when really it's not a huge thing at all."
