A car has been left wrecked and is understood to be "a write-off" after smashing into a lamppost in Plymouth. A BMW was involved in a crash with a lamppost at Marsh Mills retail park on Saturday, July 6, at around 9pm, during a car meet.

Pictures taken at the scene show a lamppost deeply wedged in the car bonnet, completely smashing the left headlight. The BMW was left stuck between a hedge and the lamppost near the Marsh Mills roundabout, with its front wheels appearing around a foot off of the ground.

One eyewitness said that the driver was uninjured following the crash. They said: "The car is a write off and all involved are ok."
