Boat grounded and left stranded on rocks at Ilfracombe beach
A boat became stranded on rocks at a Devon beach after running aground. The vessel became stuck at Ilfracombe beach and what photographed at low tide today (Friday, September 20).
North Devon Council said it is aware of the incident and it has been working with both the RNLI and HM Coastguard to handle the incident. The vessel was stuck on rocks with no sign of pollution, the council added in a statement.
Photos taken at the scene show the white and blue boat laying on rocks on the beach. The vessel appears to be a sailing boat.

North Devon Council said: "We have been made aware of an incident in which a boat has gone aground at Ilfracombe. No persons were on board the boat and no other people were involved.
"We have been working with the RNLI and Coastguard to manage this incident and the Maritime and Coastguard Agency has been informed.
"The boat is currently stranded on rocks, with no signs of pollution. We are working to develop a plan for the boat's salvage and recovery. In the meantime, the boat's position continues to be monitored by the harbour master."
