Bob Marley’s family are set to cover the late reggae star’s song “One Love” to raise money for Unicef’s coronavirus fund.

The new version of the song, which was originally recorded in 1977 by Bob Marley And The Wailers, will be performed by Marley’s daughter Cedella, son Stephen and grandson Skip.

They will be joined by musicians from conflict zones and children living in vulnerable communities.

The song will be released on 17 July by Marley’s record label Tuff Gong International, with proceeds going to Reimagine, Unicef’s global campaign to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic from becoming a lasting crisis for children.

Cedella said: “Over 40 years ago, my father wrote One Love about unity, peace and universal love during a time when there was much trouble in the world.

“One Love” originally appeared on Marley’s album Exodus, which featured some of the group’s biggest hits, including “Jamming” and “Three Little Birds”.
