Bobtail Squid Waits for Personal Space as Giant Worm Glides Over

Don’t you hate it when someone invades your personal space? If so, you can empathize with this bobtail squid in the waters of Port Phillip Bay, Victoria.

Diver and keen photographer Jules Casey is based on the Mornington Peninsula, which is on the shores of Port Phillip Bay, and she regularly captures beautiful imagery from beneath the waves.

On this occasion though, she spotted the bobtail squid waiting patiently as what Casey identified as a “very, very long” member of the spoon worm family slowly glided over its body as the worm submerged itself into a hole.

Casey captioned the footage of the squid’s patient wait as being “adorable”. Credit: Jules Casey via Storyful
