Body of Chinese woman found at Woolwich tower block after reports of concern about her safety

The body of a Chinese woman has been found at a tower block in South East London. Police were called to the 12-storey building in Woolwich at around 12:00pm on Tuesday (November 19), following reports of concern over a person's safety.

The body of a woman was discovered at St Domingo House on Leda Road near Woolwich Dockyard railway station, Scotland Yard has said. So far one man, aged 49, has been arrested and released on bail as police continue their investigation.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Police were called to reports of concern over a person’s safety at an address in Woolwich, south-east London at around at 12:03hrs on Tuesday, November 19.

“Officers attended the scene at St Domingo House, Leda Road, SE18, where they found the body a Chinese woman. A 49-year-old man has been arrested as part of the investigation and released on bail. Enquiries are ongoing.”
