Body discovered inside Jewellery Quarter property

A body has been discovered inside a property on the outskirts of Birmingham city centre. Police and paramedics were called to Summer Hill Road in the Jewellery Quarter just after 12pm on Thursday (Jan 9).

The body of a male was found at an address. The death is not being treated as suspicious.

A file will be sent to Birmingham and Solihull Coroner's Court.

West Midlands Police in a statement: "The body of a man was discovered at an address off Summer Hill Road at just after midday yesterday (9 January). The death is not believed to be suspicious and a report will be submitted to the coroner."

An image taken from the scene showed West Midlands Police on Summer Row, next to University College Birmingham. A private ambulance from the coroner's court was also seen.
