A man’s body has been found on the beach at Cleethorpes.

Police were called to an area of the beach in north-east Lincolnshire near the Wonderland theme park at around 8.30am on Friday.

According to reports, a dog walker had made the discovery.

Humberside Police said it is thought the man, who is believed to be in his 30s, hadn’t been in the water for very long.

Crews from the Coastguard and ambulance service also attended the scene and a cordon was put in place while an investigation began, the force said.

“Enquiries are in their very early stages and we are currently treating the man’s death as unexplained,” a spokesman said.

The discovery comes less than a month after a severed human foot - believed to be that of a woman - was found on a footpath in New Waltham, just a few miles from Cleethorpes.
